What Groovr.io keeps, and why

Last updated October 7, 2026

Groovr.io is made by WIZ3R, a sole proprietorship in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada ("we"). This page says what we collect when you use the Groovr.io plugin, its window and groovr.io, what we do with it, and who else handles it. Questions, or a request about your data: [email protected].

Your music stays on your computer

Groovr.io works on the project you have open in Bitwig Studio or Ableton Live, on your computer. Its records of a project (its undo history, its map of your song, the clips it has read) are kept in a Groovr.io folder next to that project, on your computer. We do not upload your projects, your audio or your instruments.

When you talk to Groovr.io, your voice is turned into text on your computer. The recording never leaves it.

What goes to the AI, and what we keep of it

When you type or say a command, Groovr.io sends the AI your sentence, the conversation so far, and what it reads of your project to answer it: for example track and scene names, a clip's notes, the key. A picture you paste goes with the command it was pasted with. Clicks in the panels (Groove, Chords, Riff, Key, Arrange) do not use the AI.

Anthropic processes these requests under its commercial terms and privacy policy.

Your account

If you sign in, we keep:

On your computer, Groovr.io keeps its sign-in in your system's keychain, and the license that says what your account may use in a small file in your home folder.

Payments

Purchases are handled by Stripe, which acts as the seller of record and handles tax. Your card details go to Stripe and never to us. Stripe tells us what was bought and whether it was paid or refunded, and keeps its own records under its privacy policy.

Who else handles your data

We do not sell your data, show ads, or use analytics or tracking cookies. groovr.io sets one cookie, only when you sign in on the site: it keeps you signed in for 30 days.

How long we keep it

Account records are kept while your account exists. When you delete your account (from your account page, or by asking us), we delete your email, name, picture, your devices' names and your sign-in records. We keep the record of purchases and charges for as long as tax and accounting law requires, seven years, without the parts that identify you where the law allows; and the scrambled identifier of each computer, which identifies no person, so that a computer is given the free trial only once.

Your rights

On your account page you can download a copy of your data, correct your email and name, and delete your account, at once. You can also ask us for any of these, or to stop using your data for anything but what the service needs, by writing to [email protected]. We answer within 30 days. We handle personal information under Canada's federal privacy law (PIPEDA); if you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you also have the rights the GDPR gives you, including to receive your data in a portable form and to complain to your local data protection authority. Our grounds for using your data are the contract with you (running the service and your purchases), our legal duties (tax records) and our legitimate interest in keeping the service safe (sign-in limits, one trial per computer). If you live in California, you have the right to know what we hold about you, to have it deleted and corrected, and not to be treated differently for asking; we do not sell or share personal information for advertising.

Children

Groovr.io is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly keep their data. If you are under 16, or under the age at which you can agree to this yourself where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to your use of Groovr.io.

Changes

If this page changes in a way that matters, we will say so by email before it takes effect.
